Cynthia
Ebin: My concern is to expose the metaphysical
aspects of humanity through the artistic, expressive evolution
of the figure. This becomes a personification of energy
as visual realities where one can relate in an emotional,
spiritual and conceptual manner.
My
approach is a mystical journey continually digging in
the catacombs of the mind. My work is a vehicle in which
I seek to unearth and excavate prior existence and thus
give meaning to the here and now.
My
focus is the human spirit from which I draw my energy.
Elements of the human form, animals and nature all play
a synergistic role in this unveiling of the great mystery.
Cynthia
Ebin currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
Carol
Henry: Inspired after viewing the floral paintings
of Georgia O’Keefe, Carol Henry worked well over
a decade to develop a unique photographic technique that
would allow her to explore the internal spirit and essence
of flowers. As a child, she says her fascination with
organic design was mesmerizing. It was this passion that
fueled her continued exploration while pursuing studies
towards her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
Confined
in the college darkroom one afternoon, due to a howling
blizzard, she discovered a way to reproduce the warmth
and beauty of her subject by projecting light through
the cells of the flower directly onto archival Cibachrome
paper. What appeared was complete purity, without distortion
or grain; just the simple radiant delicacy of the flower
itself. Without using either camera or film Henry had
developed a truly extraordinary technique that would shape
the rest of her career.
Because
no negative is involved in her photographic process and
the flowers can withstand only a single exposure, each
20x24 image is one-of-a-kind. All those who own a Carol
Henry print appreciate that they retain the only image
of a plant that once grew and flowers that blossomed.

George-Henri
(Manzana) Pissarro was born in Louveciennes,
France in 1871. As the second son of Camille and Julie
Pissarro, Manzana was taught art as an uncompromised craft.
He learned not only to handle brushes and pencils, but
to observe and to love nature. George-Henri worked under
the pseudonym "Manzana" like all the second
generation Pissarros. It was not until 1910, out of respect
for his then deceased father, that he employed his own
family name when singing his work. George-Henri died in
1961 at the age of ninety.
Hugues
Claude Pissarro was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine,
France in 1935. As the son of Paul-Emile Pissarro, Hugues
Claude was often brought on painting excursions. Hugues
Claude was a professor for art for much of his adult life,
which was notably molded by his formal training at Ecole
du Musee du Louvre and the Ecole Normale Superieure. Hugues
Claude has chosen to work in a self-imposed solitude,
and today he is visited only by close family members and
select core of friends.
Lelia
Pissarro was born in Paris, France in 1963. Lelia,
the third child of Hugues Claude and Katia, was raised
from infancy to the age of eleven by her grandparents
Paulemile and Yvonne Pissarro. Lelia sold her first canvas
to a New York dealer when she was only four years old.
Paulemile, before his death in 1972, made Lelia promise
to keep the family name alive through her art. Lelia's
most recent art exhibition was entitled Pissarro - The
Four Generations, which was held in 1998.
Ludovic-Rodo
Pissarro was born in France in 1878. Ludovic-Rodolphe
was the son of Camille Pissarro and was named after Caille's
close friend Ludovic-Piette, who had died the previous
year. He soon came to be known as Rodo, and usually signed
his work Ludovic-Rodo. Rodo was a well-received artist,
however he is most commonly known for his cataloging of
his father's work. Ludovic-Rodo died in 1952 at the age
of seventy-four in Montmartre.
Paul-Emile

- was the fifth and youngest son of Camille Pissarro.
Following his father’s death Paulemile returned
from Paris with his mother to Eragny, which was only about
20 miles away from Giverny where his father's good friend
Monet lived. Paulemile would travel to Giverny where Monet
gave him lessons in painting and horticulture.
Joseph
Wahl Joseph Wahl was born in Los Angeles, California
in 1960. He graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from
the University of California at Santa Barbara. He also
attended the College of Creative Studies in Santa Barbara
where he studied with Charles Garabedian, Tom Wudl and
John Mckracken. Wahl then completed his studies at the
Universita’ di belli arti in Venice, Italy where
he studied with the well know abstract expressionist Emilio
Vedova. After returning from Italy, Wahl has pursued his
art career in Los Angeles. Wahls’ new large-scale
oil paintings are bold and strong, vibrating with reserved
tension. The compositions give the illusion of deep space
while at the same time holding the viewer at the surface
of the canvas. Tactile yet airy, the paintings are strong
visual statements. Wahl currently resides in Los Angeles,
California.
